More Rude People
I went to the mall area today. I saw: 2 cars parked in no parking zones with their emergency flashers on. Some might say these people were making pick-ups on large items, but do you have to park your car where it blocks the road? Then I got behind a couple of cars who were totally blocking traffic while they talked to one another out their driver's side windows. In holiday traffic!
It seems like you get a few really rude people and then everyone else gets pissed off and decides it's o.k. for them to do it too. Rudeness seems to be spreading. I try to make a point of being polite because there are so few out there anymore that we stand out. I stopped at the grocery store. I said to the check-out clerk, are you feeling bad today, because you aren't your usual smiling self. That got me a smile, just because I noticed. It's so easy, and it makes me feel good, too.
A lot of us get depressed this time of year, just because we buy into the dream. And the reality of the holiday just doesn't measure up to my ideal. That's all the more reason to be kind, so you can get some pleasure coming back.
It's also a good reason to drink a glass of wine tonight. LOL
