What? No health care reform? Why them sissies!

At this date, it is looking pretty certain that the progressive wing will get very little of what it stood for in health care reform.

Obama's pragmatism, and the conservatism of too many democrats, has defeated real reform again. Obama will take what he can get, but at the best, it will be "insurance reform" and little enough of that.

I wondered what the rest of this membership thinks of all this now, and whether you are still behind the Obama Administration. Will you support him with your money and your time in the next election?

There is also the escalation of the war effort to think about, the high unemployment that should be around for the rest of this term, and the huge deficit.

I think internationally it is beginning to sink in that Obama hasn't been able to move the country to the left at all. We talk nice, but what we do isn't substantially different from the Bush Administration...at least that is my feeling.

What are yours?

I think it sucks, and I think that the Democratic led Senate is taking it's constituency for granted. This is a very dangerous game their playing, and I intend to let my Senator know my feelings about this.

It is increasingly apparent that the Democratic led Senate cannot deliver on the Presidents Campaign promise in regards to health care reform. It is also increasingly apparent that the Democrats in the Senate believe that it's constituency will except anything thrown against the wall, and call it health care reform. If the Democrats whom I've supported can't be there for me, I'm afraid I can no longer be there for them. I believe I'm not alone in this thinking, and I have a very long memory. No more business as usual!
I just sent this to the Senator of my State. I hope others will do the same.

Sad to say a unifed House of Representaives can get the job done while the senate, comprised of holdovers from the Bush era, which tried to dismantle medicare, can't get the job done.

Why in heaven's name Lieberman was allowed to keep his committee chairmanship of the Homeland Security Committee I don't know. You don't make a rattlesnake a pet just because he's no longer rattling. Lieberman should have been sacked.

I honestly believe the progressives have been true to their constituency. They have been doing their to healthcare reform passed even if its not the best of all worlds. Progressives are in the minority and must work with the conservative who didn't have to face the voters' wrath last November along with gutless Democts who no longer truly represent the totality of their constituency.

Please don't blame the progressives for this quagmire but put the blame where it properly belongs and donate to those candidate who will represent their constituency in the next election.

I'm feeling the American public is not going to support progressive policies. It doesn't make any difference who one supports, the policies remain the same. The structure of government ensures that the wealthy and business interests are protected against democratic reforms.

I'm considering not voting and not contributing next election as a protest. Obama has not fulfilled his political promises.
