Boxes or Bags?

I wonder how many are still wrapping presents in the old fashioned boxes, with paper and bows. Have you switched over to the more convenient bags with colored tissue paper, or no? They are a bit pricey, but we recyle our bags just like we keep track of our boxes until they are no longer useable.

I have a mix of both under the tree this year - not quite there with the bag business, but it sure is faster and easier to put a gift in a bag and place it under the tree - no scissors, no scotch tape and none of those pesky bows that never seem to stick!

Merry Christmas and Happy Hannuka one and all! Have you finished shopping yet?!

I have bought those store reuseable bags. Add some decoration, glitter buttons or bows. Cheaper then a gift bag and can be used after christmas.

I have to say you are right - kids love the anticipation, while adults just want to get at it. I have only one big kid - age 42 - and he takes his gifts anyway I give them!

I was just thinkiing the same thing, Annie ( Great Minds....). I have no little children around so it is not a factor. But, I just thought about myself as a little girl - I would be so into those bags!

Tissue paper. There are some very pretty ones out there and people can use it again for mailing, or wrapping their holiday decorations for storage.

Speaking of how kids love to unwrap the boxes...I pulled a good one on my granddaughters...a couple of years ago.(They would've been 10 and 12) I had a huge box (left from the Christmas before) and I put a bunch of newspaper and some things to rattle around a little inside it. I wrapped it all pretty and put it under the tree...with NO ONE'S NAME ON IT. Talk about curiosity that about killed the cat !!! They BEGGED me (each one individually...without the other one around) to tell who's present it was..promising to "not tell" the other one. I have the "unwrapping" event on my camcorder....and we still watch it...laughing til I cry.....you have NEVER seen unwrapping like THAT !!!! Wrapping paper was FLYING....everywhere.

It was worth the cost of the wrapping paper....10 times over!
