How are these prisoners any different from killers and thieves and thugs in any prison--most of whom are whacked out on the illegal drugs the guards bring in for them? Are they more dangerous? I don't get the outrage or the fuss.

Lest you forget - terrorists are more dangerous and when it happens again people will remember the 3,000 deaths that happened on 9/11, and then see more deaths happening in front of them. Terrorists are more dangerous for they have a cause and this cause is to make sure those who don't believe in their cause will die a sure death. Death to the Infidels they say, and you will be able to see it clearly the next time it happens.

Crest I think there is a big difference between the terrorists and American criminals. While some criminals spend their time trying to escape, and some are successful, they usually do not have a whole hostile organization behind them planning ways to create a disaster to either use for bargaining for their freedom or and actual attack on the prison to release the terrorists. Obama has promised that this prison will be escape proof - that is a red flag in front of a bull. Anyplace on American soil is not escape proof if a an organized group who have no qualms about how many people they kill make a well planned assault. Gitmo was protected by a military presence and plenty of open water that had to be crossed - This prison is surrounded by a civilian population who have no idea of the danger they are being subjected to in order to please some politicians and a President who made a hasty decision without thinking things out.

Let's see. Is every American a craven coward? Or, just the loud mouths on the far right?

I retired from Illinois corrections and I haven't heard guards worrying about terrorists. If the terrorists have even one iota of sense, they would not want to spend even one night in an American prison. To begin with, most of the terrorists believe in female mutilation which is child abuse. Then, they aren't in the right gang. Or, they won't be incarcerated in the wing of the prison with the right gang. What happens to a child abuser that isn't in a cell with the right gang? Answer: anything the gang wants them to do.

Sorry Charlie, this prison will only house terrorists, no other prisoners so they will not be subjected to normal prison gangs - they will only have each other. You may have worked in Illinois prisons, but not this one - it was never populated and that is why the democratic machine wanted to unload it on the US government - despite what danger the people in that republican district were subjected to.

Last point: the only thing that prisoners in jail fear is Supermax? Thomson is Supermax? Everything is taken away from a prisoner. That includes any contact with anyone else. Humans are social animals. Take away all human contact from a prisoner: no TV, no books, newspapers, no magazines, no conversation, no idea whether it is even day or night ---and humans sooner or later retreat into madness. Terrorists in such an environment will simply wither away to nothing.

Call it killing with kindness.

So crawl back under your bed or whereever it is you hide. As they say, "you don't know jack."

This is just another example of the muslim president acting to harm America while coddling terrorists.
