I live near Lake Michigan, so I expect crazy weather. I am just grateful the traveling I had to do was after a nasty storm came through last week. I have never been someplace warm in December- I would try to adjust my attitude to still have the holiday spirit- maybe I should do some research in Hawaii.
I would love to be in a moutain cabin with snow everywhere for Christmas........

I do remember that West Virginia weather varied a lot. It snowed a little more here last night, so I'm looking forward to a beautiful hike today. Yes, snow helps in keeping the holiday spirit, but in Anchorage it's been decades since we had a Christmas with no snow. It also helps my spirit to remember that I'm going to Maui in 6 weeks. :oD

I am trying to remember where Anchorage is located. Isn't it down on the eastern panhandle heading towards Vancouver?? Even so, it's amazing that there has been no snow for Christmas there for so long. I have never been anywhere outside the US except for a few hours or so in Canada so a trip to Hawaii o anywhere else would be a welcome diversion for a change.
Brrr the temp outside my door is -10 below zero. The weather can change rapidly in North Dakota...but I'm going to South Padre Isalnd, Texas next month; hip, hip, hooray!
It's cold here in east central MN today. We've had a cold snap for about a week now. One of those Alberta things. But Christmas is Christmas. I was in the military many years ago and spent 1 Christmas in TN and 2 in HI. It was still Christmas. The weather didn't change the fact that it was Christmas but it was difficult being away from my family.
I spent 2 Christmas's in Southern California, and I'll admit that we had a wonderful Christmas......
I cooked for the Marine buddies of my husband's .
Our oldest was only about 4 mnths old,and they had a ball passing him around!...ha!
But they were having an unusual chilly period the first time,so that helped.
