i think i would advise just downloading firefox or google chrome...if you can't be online long enough to download, go to a library and download the firefox onto a jumpdrive and install it from there to your pc..it seems faster and more stable than the explorer is these days

Amond's suggestion is your best and quickest workaround, if you need a browser.
The problem is that you need IE (unless you already have another browser downloaded but unused) to get to the web to get to the site that Firefox can be downloaded from.
Again, amond's suggestion of a flash drive and the library would work!
daor79 - thanks for that link!

It’s always smart to have more than one browser even if you don’t intend to use it. That way if a virus attacks your main browser, you can still use the other one to download any needed programs to clean your system. You may have to find a friend to download Firefox for you. Most libraries are pretty much tied down. They don't allow downloads unless approved by their webmaster and the librarians are not usually able to help you...
After reading the previous posts about having a spare browser if it was ever needed I downloaded the latest Firefox browser. When I started it it froze up my computer & I had to restart it.I tried Firefox again, typed in Eons.com & it went quickly to the site.I read one post & then clicked the back button to return to the previous page.It went back but displayed nothing, while the little wheel kept turning, waiting for the page to display.I tried refreshing it but that did no good. After ten minutes I cut it off.I'm back on IE8 and it's working fine & fast.
I have Windows Vista64 OS.Anyone know what might have caused Firefox not to work properly?
ray,
I have no idea why The Fox would not run on your 64-bit Vista machine....
If you still have problems, can you create a separate posting about it so we don't get your questions mixed up with Whisperingeagle's?
thanks

Unfortunately, there isn't a 64-bit version of Firefox available from Mozilla. There are some versions available from other places, but not directly from Mozilla.
This is from the Firefox support forum.

Pete, sorry about placing my question in the wrong place.
Thanks Jason for the info.I just deleted Firefox.
I am running Windows 7 64-bit . I didn't have any problems with Firefox at first . Now i have some links i go to that won't let me post anything . Even on eon's every thing don't load on profile but does on
IE-8 . Maybe Firefox isn't compatible yet for 64-bit to run problem free !
