Today's ride

Today's ride was just terrific! It was pretty clear, finally calm, and about 35 degrees. There is just something about riding in the winter that is so cool...maybe that's not the word I am looking for, let's try refreshing...not much better, but out of ideas. Anyway, maybe it is the cool crisp air, it just seems fresher, revitalizing. It also makes you slow down so as not to freeze your tail off, which in turn gives you a chance to really look around. So I did.

The snow is about gone, didn't get much anyway, but we will take what moisture we can get.

I never leave home without my lucky chicken. I call her my Biker Chic. Doesn't matter that it is a rooster, because its my story and I'm stickin' to it.

I got all kinds of waves today, usually do, but I think even the couple of ol' grouches out there smiled and waved. After all, its not every day you see a chubby old lady on a bike with a santa hat covering her helmet. I had so much fun today. Oh, and that's Bently showing off his new toy.

Happy riding folks.

Thank you for sharing your winter ride with us! The photographs are delightful. It is a revelation to see snow gathered under the sagebrush. It's been raining in the Bay Area. That does not keep some from riding anyway. I don't like riding down hills in the rain so I've been sidelined and relegated to riding in garageland on the stationary bike until a sunnier day. I see that you are still riding your road bike. Are you able to do that year 'round in your location?

Gosh Teesiea, the sky looks so blue, but that's the desert for you. Looks like a beautiful day for a ride however and it's always enjoyable when you get waves from passing motorists. Calm days in the desert are rare, better take advantage of them while they are there. Your photos are first rate as always, and I enjoy seeing a visual of your rides. By the time the temps get down to 35 degrees however, I'm usually riding my mountain bike, not that I couldn't ride the road bike a bit slower, I suppose, but it just the way we do it here.

Yep, we have our share of wind. If you've ever been to Amarillo, Texas you no doubt have noticed that the trees grow at an angle. If you've never been.....I'm not kidding, its a riot. Well, sometimes that's the way we cyclists look around here, especially in the spring. I've been eyeballing my mountain bike, but I will be on the road until the last possible moment. I've been going to bring the mb in and put the winter tires on it, but that's about as far as I've gotten. I am like you thislife, not a fan of wet roads. Now muddy or snowy trails, get the mb out and we will talk!

Why wouldn't EVERYBODY want to wave at the christmas elf going down the road on her bike. This time of year you have to be nice to the elfs!
Thanks for sharing Teesiea!
