I do not do politics. If I said what I thought, I would be banned. So, let me say this. Don't anyone, EVER make the mistake of thinking that this particular president represents the people of the United States feelings and most certainly not when it pertains to Britain! Seems as if that is a contradiction in fact and that indeed is our dilemma.

If Mr Obama has personal reasons for disliking Great Britain that is his privalege. He is free to feel as he wishes. NO American president ever represents the feelings of all of the people, its impossible. Mr Brown is not popular with the British people, I have no idea why and really dont care.
I respect and like President Obama and as long as he does his job, I have no interest in his personal perspective on the subject.
The MauMau years were terrible ones, no one got through unscathed. I can see people not admiring the colonialist period for many reasons, although they were interesting historically. In all things there are good and bad and very bad things that come out of any colonialism. It brought some good things to many countries and it also destroyed many wonderful cultures. Its a done deal, we can not change the past. Great Britain has also reaped the rewards of past mistakes by giving independence when asked and then having to bear the burden of an influx of those peoples who wanted to stay within the protection of the mother country. I would say she is still paying the price.
However, having had my say here I will now close this post. I never usually do this but have decided that politics are not a pleasing subject and in the past your posts TC1000 have not been well received here I am asking that you please refrain from political posts.
We will always welcome any posts that you care to share that are not meant to incite bad feelings among a group of people who enjoy each others company. I think we are all very well aware of the part that Britain plays in the world and we will never agree on this war so its best left alone, especially at this time of year when the hope is always for PEACE!!!!.
I have said in the past that there are no rules in this group and still, there are not....... but I do reserve the right, as do my moderators to publically close any post they feel is not to the best interest of everyone. If anyone has any thoughts they are welcome to PM me.
