Wow, That is beautiful and amazing. How long did it take you?

If you could work non-stop you could probably cut and piece the top in 7 or 8 hours.
How pretty! Was the fabric a stripe?
Yes, the pattern says to use a bold stripe.
?The Pattern? There's a pattern! And how do we get a copy of this "pattern". :o)
Your quilt is Beyond fantastic! Is this similar to the Disappearing 9 patch, where you make a 9 patch block, cut it in quarters and sew it back together? I agree, it's wonderful to take the same pattern and see how different people interpret it.
That is really interesting. I would like to learn more, too.

The pattern is ONE FOR THE MONEY from Grizzly Gulch Gallery. Someone else on here did it and that is how I found it. It is done by cutting fabric in strips across full width of fabric, cutting strips in squares, then cutting squares in 4 and labeling them and assembling according to diagram in the pattern. It is similar to stack and whack or the disappearing 9 patch. Simpler than stack and whack as you don't have to find the repeat.
Very pretty! It's nice to see so much of the beautiful fabric. Sometimes I feel sad when a lovely fabric disappears into a quilt.
I take a lot of classes, and the best part is seeing how unique each quilt is when we all start with the same pattern. (The best part is frequently NOT my own quilt, but I'm getting better.)

Very interesting patterns emerged from this technique. I especially like the ones that look like spools.
