Bitter cold and high winds

We just lost the 3 foot wreath that was on the deck railing out front. I thought I had it tied down really well. Oh, well, Joe did recover it, but it will not go back up. Our street looks so dark now. Most of the decorations have either been blown away or taken down. Our neighbor had stapled down lights and half a string is flapping in the wind.

The only thing we have up outside is the wreath on the door. That will be it this year. These storms just keep coming and you can't beat Mother Nature.

Too bad about the decorations, but you are right about beating Mother Nature....we also had winds, but my outdoor stuff managed to survive except for a couple of lighted tree-tops....now that the temps are in the teens, I won't be adding any more outdoor decor'....what you see is what you get....

I do hope things settle down a bit for you before Christmas gatherings begin....sure not fun going out in cold/windy weather.....have a good one....TC

It's a shame about the outside decorations---the weather just won't cooperate some times.

The same thing used to happen in southern California...everything would be all set up and then the Santa Ana winds would start up and blow everything down and dry out the trees in the Christmas tree lots until they were "Charlie Brown" trees with only a few needles

Good Evening Brig! I think it very wise not to try and take on Mother Nature! From the soumd of things,I doubt there willbe many folks outside to admire the decorations anyway! You and Joe can just stoke up the fire,snuggle up under a blanket,and watch the twinkling lights on your own tree!
