Only Two
You have only couple minutes to get downstairs and get out of the house which is on fire (God forbid).... you can only take 2 things with you; What will you take? Why those 2?
I guess I'd grab my laptop computer...at least I could connect to resources I'd need, easier, that way. I'd toss my jewelry ( parents rings etc.) into the box with photo albums and be out the door.

Grab the phone in one hand, my buns with the other, and bail. (Don't presently have a cat.) If I had two minutes I'd leave about a 1:45 safety margin.

My purse .. it contains checkbook and cell phone and credit cards and my coat... its in the 20's.
