Is free not cheap enough?

The pet rescue place that I volunteer for, picking up calls and scheduling appointments, had an ad in the paper for FREE pit bull spays for the first 10 who called; 5 to be done today, and 5 to be done on Thursday.

Believe it or not...two scheduled for today didn't show up! Neither called the vet to cancel the appointment and at least one of them could have rescheduled their appointment for Thursday. An appointment scheduled, NOT through the low-cost program, averages around $145 at any other vet, but apparently these cement-heads figured that they would just blow this generous program off. One called about 10 minutes ago, and said that she would 'try and stop in tomorrow with the dog'....uh....nope. I told her that she could reschedule next week, by calling me back, and she said that she would do that for sure. I forgot to tell her that it wouldn't be free next week, and would cost her $90. My bad.

It's too bad people only think of themselves and do not have the common sense and courtesy to call and cancel....how hard is that?

Just more jerks with a feeling of entitlement. Good! Let it hit 'em in the pocketbook!

I wish they had a free program for cats. I have a Ferrel cat that need spaded if I could catch her. I used to have more but now down to 6. She has 2 sets of kittens a year. 2 females and the rest are tomcats. One is old and didn't have any kitten this year. I hope that means she is to old. This time the kittens were tame enough to catch and give away. Most the time her kittens are like her. Very Wild! I have fed her for 6 years and she still hisses at me and will not let me touch her. They will help here but pay $20 on the over $100 bill.

Isn't ti snowing in Michigan today. I thought I saw that you were having another big snow storm out there.

It did snow yesterday, but only about an inch. The roads were clear anywhere within the city limits. The main road that the clinic is on is always plowed. Being afraid of driving in the snow is NOT an excuse not to call and cancel an appointment; a $90 mistake.

Some of these people are the same ones sending their little kids off to school without breakfast. Shouldn't be allowed to own a pit bull without it being spade unless they're a registered breeder with minimum state mandated housing facilities. That's what I think anyway......

There is a law in a town about 45 miles from me that states that if you own a pit bull, you must muzzle it whenever it is not on your property.

I work in a doctor's office where procedures are done, and some PEOPLE do not have the courtesy to call and cancel when they know they are not coming. Then they have the nerve to complain when they re-schedule that it is not soon enough!!
