I love seeing someone point this out. I was given so much $h!+ during the election about negative reports of the "Great one," and about the FOX News reports being wrong.
Thanks sm - Santa Claus could not give me a better gift than this "I told you so!"
Grins & Smirks,
Still crazy but smiling BIG smiles
The media loves polls, and making glib comparisons! And if you've spent any time at all studying the way they make use of both, you'd know that their enthusiasm for numbers often outpaces their grasp of the underlying math and methodology. One type of poll that's sure to get a splashy mention these days is presidential approval polls, which track the ups and downs in the overall popularity of the sitting president. These polls are important: How else will we know when President Obama's "honeymoon is over?"
I think it's kind of strange, really, when people would rather be right than to see a person they don't like succeed.
I still remember how everyone pointed out that it would take TIME to clean up the horrendous mess left by the previous administration, most likely voted in by those who would so love to see Obama fail, yet they haven't even given him a year before they start calling him a failure.
It's really quite bizarre, but me thinks it's simply the other side having to deal with their frustrations at seeing someone whose ideas and ideals are just not the same as theirs wield the power to make changes in the world that those same people don't agree with... this reminds me of how I felt when Bush was in office.
So -- all that said. I understand.

Smoke is a familiar troll. He spells better than Harry although his grammar is still a little rough around the edges. I'm still trying to place which of the dirty dogs he really is.
The only poll that really mattered last election was the one at the voting booth on election day.
I don't care a wit about Obama succeeding! I do care about the country and the hard working people of the country succeeding! Obama's policies are not helping economically they're leading to ruination! Hows that hope and change? Unemployment at about 10% factor in those that have quit looking its about 15%. Under G. W. Bush it was under 5%. 5% and under is considered full employment. In Obama's mind its all about him. If Obama really cared about the country he'd resign. But the line of successors is just as bad. I can't wait until the results of the 2012 congressional elections! Merlinsflame my grammer is just fine. Direct and to the point is best. Wolf, wolf! I really don't give a wit what you think of my grammar.
This from wiki.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose from 4.2% in January 2001, peaking at 6.3% in June 2003 and reaching a trough of 4.4% in March 2007. After an economic slowdown, the rate rose again to 6.1% in August 2008 and up to 7.2% in December 2008. [56] From December 2007 when the recession started to December 2008, an additional 3.6 million people became unemployed. [57] And, in January 2009, his last month in office, the nation lost 655,000 jobs, raising the unemployment rate to 7.6 percent, the highest level in more than 15 years. [58]
Veggiebubble its a little late to be blaming the current mess on the previous administration. The current administration owns the mess lock stock and barrel. The left owns the House of Reps., the Senate, the Whitehouse. The opposition can not stop anything. I do find it amusing the left painting the right as bad guys because they sit on their hands and do nothing. I'd let the opposition hang themselves also. But that is expected. Because the left wants the blame pinned on the opposition when all goes and is going bad. Ummmmmmmm, ummmmmmmmmm, ummmmmmmmm! Hows that hope and change?
Redhand Wiki is unreliable anyone can go there and post and change.
