Congratulations . Which one is your grandson ? I am assuming it is Strondak .My oldest son did 4 years in the Army . He was the only enlisted man on his base's ( Ft. Polk , La. ) travelling baseball team and its shortstop and clean-up hitter at 6 ft -220 pounds . He spent the whole 4 years travelling all around the world playing baseball . My youngest son was an Airborne Ranger , he spent his time in the service getting Arctic warfare training , jungle warfare training, mountain warfare training , and desert warfare training . Luckily , both of them were out of the service before Iraq .

Pardon , monsieur . It seems that the French have thoroughly infiltrated your family . LOL ! I remember you saying that your wife was French . It is so exciting when they are that age and doing well and everything seems to be possible in their future . Good luck to him , I hope he achieves everything he strives for .

Sounds like a fine young man yichel. Be very proud of him and give yourselves a litle pat on the back as well...good parents are a rare commodity these days.
dam now now realize my feelings roward canadians there is my name on the family tree then I a surrounded by pellitiers, Jalberts, Drouins, Soucys. I never hear a word of yiddish.
I am real proud of the young man. I do wish my parents could be around to see this but that's life. I am worried about the young being used as canon fodder in some stupid war this country will be in. But he wants to pay back, and then move into criminal science? whateverr its called. He is not a reader, a conflict between him and I, but has this foundation of good values and understands family.
P.S. has a real cool girlfriend.

Yichel, thanks for sharing this article. Your grandson sounds like a wonderful young man with a great future. He's very handsome as well. I know you must be tremendously proud of him and perhaps a bit apprehensive about him joining the Marines at a time like this. I bet he will excel.
Congrats to your grandson. He sounds like a great kid - I always enjoyed watching college style wrestling - my son tried but had back problems that made it impossible, but a couple of my nephews competed. I hope he realizes his dreams in the Marines and applaud him for his support of our country.
in this case i did nothing excepy once sent him to a summer wrestling camp, cherkov's something like that. he came back pumped up, aggressive with some new techniques that he has practiced & practiced He opted out of football this semester to just cncentrate on wrestling. His goal 120 win, epea state champ and at least a 4th place finish at regionals then in August off to paris island. Might anyone know of a college near by? I desire for him to continue his studies he has college potential.
