By Cenk Uygur: Host of The Young Turks

... But remarkably, they didn't slink away embarrassed after this answer, so we have the latest example of her buffoonery. In this interview with Bill O'Reilly, he asks her if she is smart enough to be president. Her answer has to be seen to be believed. Don't get me wrong, just because you see it won't mean you'll understand it. So, I put a transcript of her answer below so that you can try to decipher it in your spare time.

Bill O'Reilly: Let me be very bold and fresh again, do you believe that you are smart enough, incisive enough, intellectual enough to handle the most powerful job in the world?

Sarah Palin: I believe that I am because I have common sense and I have I believe the values that I think are reflective of so many other American values, and I believe that what Americans are seeking is not the elitism, the uhm, the ah, a kind of spineless, spinelessness that perhaps is made up for that with some kind of elite, Ivy league education and, and a fat resume that is based on anything but hard work and private sector, free enterprise principles. Americans are could be seeking something like that in positive change in their leadership, I'm not saying that that has to be me.

Someone please study this and translate it into English

The first thing I ever knew about O'Reilly was that he sexually harassed one of his staffers, and I haven't paid much attention to him since then except when he is lampooned by Keith Olbermann. And I may be reading too much into the vid on The Young Turks, but I think O'Reilly's blink at 2:20 speaks volumes. I think that he honestly tried to pitch Palin a softball, and then he is stunned at how stupid she is.

Question: If you could live forever, would you and why?

Answer: I would not live forever, because we should not live forever, because if we were supposed to live forever, then we would live forever, but we cannot live forever, which is why I would not live forever. - Miss Alabama in the 1994 Miss USA contest

Let us be fair to the Sarah. Her answer was a notch better than the Miss Alabama 1994 answer. Then again, Miss Alabama was not running for the POTUS job, just Miss USA.

In 1984 the Sarah ran for Miss Alaska. view link I don't know what her question or her answer was, but I assume she did better than Miss Alabama. At least a notch better.

After careful study, I have deciphered her answer. "It is no I am not heavy in the brains department, but I can BS with the best of 'em. What I don't have in brains, I make up for in guts and ability to confuse."

What was it one of my professors said about essay questions on a test? If you don't know the answer; pretend you do and baffle 'em with bullshit.

For myself, I'm rather taken with the phrase "spineless spinelessness". Now, if you're spinelessly spineless does that mean that you have a spine or are you spineless? Somehow its like the double negative that makes a positive type thing and my head hurts thinking about it.

My English teachers are rolling in their graves every time Tundra Twit opens her mouth. She still doesn't answer O'Reilly's softball question.

I'm sorry, but I'm not that proficient at deciphering utter nonsense.

This answer sounds like something that would come from someone from the Balkans, who knows a little English but not much and their syntax is waaaayyyyyy off. Or a Martian. Take your pick.
