Prayer Requests and Seeking the Lord
Merry Christmas everyone!
I have not been on much at all lately. I've been real busy with various issues.
I do have a prayer request. My Long Term Disability Claim expired as of November 30th. I will not get anymore payments until they review my case again. They are doing so at present. I need my payments to continue until my Social Security Disability Claim has gone through and been accepted.
Social Security denied my second appeal this past month. I am now appealing at the Law Judge Appeal level. My lawyers tell me it can take approximately one year before I go before the appeals judge. In the meantime I need my Long Term Disability payments to continue until I am finally accepted by Social Security.
Social Security Disability Claims denied me saying my severe pain in my arms should be gone by the time one year since my surgery has passed. The one year point is April 8th. My pain is now worse than it was before my surgery. I seriously doubt this is going to be gone in the next 4 months.
In the meantime I was thinking today about the reasons we are on this earth. Basically, were created to glorify the Lord and enjoy Him forever. Everything else is secondary to this purpose. In the Minor Prophets you will sometimes see the phrase: "Seek the Lord!" In the Hebrew this is so strong that to accurately translate it you would have to place at least a dozen exclamation marks after it. I remember the first time I read this in the Hebrew while I was in Seminary my reaction was: "I don't want to seek Him that much!" It is scary to think about being that devoted to the Lord.
The Lord does indeed want us to seek Him way above and beyond anything or anyone else. When we give and receive gifts this Christmas think about this. If needed pray and ask the Lord that He might give you this much devotion to Him. When we Love Him above and beyond anyone else then we are able to Love even the unloveable, forgive others as He forgave us.
In Christ,
