Right now I visit the catalog sites. It helps me plan and have a vision of the spring.
We were in the garden center at Home Depot yesterday and, having just arrived from PA, I could barely contain myself at the sight of all the beautiful, green tomato plants. And the packets of seed. My mind will be working overtime to figure out something I can grow until we go home in April. Maybe some lettuce. Ooo, I just remembered that I need some chives. Off to check out the displays. Later!
Techie--your home page banner made me drool!
Loves--do you have any favorites? I'm a regular at the Wayside Gardens site. Internet opinion has been running sort of negatively about their quality the last two years. I have not ordered anything there myself. But, their online [and print, which I used to get] catalog--now THAT'S a Wish Book !

How about Merles Garden Center in Seward Nebraska for seeds of all kinds.
@Idamay, the banner photo was taken at World Market here in Florida. I love strolling the fresh fruit and veggie areas.
I order seeds from Burpee's but I have to say that last spring's batch didn't do as well as they used to. Then maybe I've just lost my touch.
Techie--it may just have been the weather. Last year was a difficult growing season in the northeast. Lots of people up this way lost tomatoes to blight. Pumpkins were expensive and ran smaller than usual. Tricky for the big farmers...

I took three tomato plants home from Florida (where they were growing beautifully) but mid-summer they started to die. I'm going to try again this spring. It's so great to have homegrown tomatoes extra early.
