File Sharing

I have a high school alumni web site which was hosted by Tripod. Tripod recently required free users to migrate their sites to a different host. The new host has very little storage capacity, so I'm having to improvise. I used to convert PDF files to jpeg and post them in the Tripod site. I can't do that any more. My compromise is to provide a link to the PDF files (newsletters and forms).

My question: is there a trustworthy, free site I can upload these files to so I can provide a link for people to click on and read/download/print these files?

Think about this, how about moving the group to eons, where you get everything you want and more..

You can set it up many different ways, with a group like that you probably want to make it private, and use real names..
Good luck hope it works out for you..

You may want to look into the real life groups

Have a look at this and see what you think. Lots of big names associated with it. view link

No hot linking to files with the free program, I had to sign up to find that out..

I had already looked at Mediafire and I have it bookmarked. It looks like a good possibility. Thanks.

HonestJohn, I started and alumni "club" on Yahoo before they went with the Groups format. That was over 10 years ago. Later, I built an adjunct web site to include some features that Yahoo Groups didn't have. Now, the official alumni association has been using the adjunct site for information and promotional purposes, like membership drives. They don't have their own web site, so, since I already had one, I gave them space on my site.

This all happened long before Eons or Facebook, etc. were conceived. With over 400 members on the Yahoo group, I don't think moving it to Eons would be productive (not that I haven't already considered it). Thanks for the thought though HJ.

Another solution, depending on how you are set up, is to use Opera.
Version 10.10 of opera has a built in (rudimentry) web server. It is designed for sharing documents and photos , etc.
Depending on how you are connected to the internet this might work for you.

This will mean your machine is accessable from the net, which you may not like.

I really don't want my machine to be accessible to everyone, so I've opted for Mediafire . The free version should serve my purposes. Thank you to all who responded.
