Yep...and more yet is in the forecast on Wednesday with winds!!! I think I hate the wind more than the cold.
My computer tells me that it's supposed to snow about 1 to 3 inches in Madison tonight and then light snow for the next couple of days. Cold weather to last through the weekend.
Light a fire in the fireplace, and stay warm!
I just treated myself to an electric blanket that I thought I would never buy. Mmmm...I'm glad I did. I'll just crank that baby up a notch!!!
Fleece sheets soon the down comforter. I'll be surprised if we have much snow. It was rather mild today abd quite clear. It has gotten cooler since it got dark.
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
Dec. 6, 2009 2:06 p.m. | The first significant snowfall of the winter is expected to hit southeastern Wisconsin on Sunday evening, followed by an even bigger snowstorm Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service.
"This will be the first major winter storm of the season to affect the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes," the agency said on its Web site.
As many as 2 to 4 inches of snow are expected to accumulate from Sunday night to Monday morning, forecasters said. Areas north of Milwaukee - including Sheboygan, Fond du Lac and West Bend - will see the heaviest snowfall. Areas south of Milwaukee could see only 1 to 3 inches, according to the weather service office in Sullivan.
"This low pressure system will pack enough punch to bring widespread accumulating snow to southern Wisconsin during this period," it said. Sunday's night's storm also will extend to the Madison and the Wisconsin Dells.
There's a strong chance that an even bigger snowstorm will hit the region Tuesday night and continue into Wednesday morning, with as much as 5 to 8 inches expected, the weather service said.
Stay safe, watch out while driving.
I just hired someone to plow my driveway this winter. I no longer want to struggle...
...and if that was me, we'd get no snow -- that's why I really should carry an umbrella all the time, it would never rain!
I'm up north and was to head home tonight. Just got a scare from mom.... chest pains had us calling an ambulance. Thankfully after a few hours in the hospital with lots of tests, the doc finally annouced it was probably acid reflux and a small ammount might have spittled over into her lungs.
My poor niece who made the mexican lunch ( a bit spicy and greasy for a nursing home resident) feels absolutely horrible....
Anyway.... I have to be driving home at 5:00 and I am a bit concerned for snowy un-salted roads. I went off to a ditch and tipped my van on it's side a few years back.... not an experience I want to repeat.
