Sick

Hoover has been sick for the last week. I took him to the vet, and 2 days later took him back. He wasn't feeling better. It is SO scarey when our little fur babies get sick. Hoover just layed and shivered...almost nonstop. The vet finally figured out he has an infection, even tho his 'blood count' stuff looked normal. She gave him an injection under his skin on his neck--to help with the dehydration, which was good, as he was not drinking any water. The injection was 'water' and puffed way up and looked very odd. It doesn't hurt. WHEW!! He is on antibioctics--for 11 more days! He is starting to feel better, not shivering anymore while he lays in front of the wood stove! OR is in bed between us--with blankets. Now he will have to be retrained to NOT be in our bed all night long! I'm just SO THANKFUL he is getting better. Everyone here knows just how much these little guys mean to us, and how we worry when things aren't right with them. I was almost ready for the hospital, I was so upset and worried about him!! His age is a big factor too..12. But now he is felling a lot better, has a ways to go to be back to normal.
He is getting there!!

Oh, poor baby- I hope he's back to feeling good, soon! I hate it when one of mine is sick- I'd much rather it was me, instead! I can handle that alot easier-

That is so scary, especially when you don't know what is wrong! I'm so glad they found out Hoover had an infection so they can take care of it! I know what you mean about being so upset and worried, you can't help but think of the worst that could happen. Give Hoover some extra hugs from us!

It is scary when our firbabies get sick. They can't tell us what is wrong. Just like small children.
We are so close to them that we can usually tell when something is not right. Praying for a speedy and full recovery for your baby.

I can totally identify with how you felt when Hoover was sick. I'm so glad he's on the mend. Schatzie had trouble with her hind legs 2 weeks ago and I was a wreck over it. Vet put her on some Rimadyl for 10 days and now she's back to her old self. I was more distraught than she was I think. Doc said it's arthritis in her hips and it's not a disk issue.

THANKS for all the good wishes for Hoover. He seems to be feeling better this morning! It is such a relief to see him acting 'almost' normal!! As the day progresses, and he has another pill after bit,
maybe he will be back to normal~all the way! I sure hope so and I hope he stays well...no more trips to the vet for sickness PLEASE!
Tracyct I am SO GLAD your baby doesn't have a disk problem. that would be a lot worse than arthritis.

Glad to hear Hoover is on the mend - that's cause for celebration - and Tracy, thank God Schatzie is doing well, too!

Hoover is back to normal today. We even went for a short walk. Didn't want to over-do it the first time out...plus it is very cold here right now. He had a jacket on but the wind was making his ears stand up! lol
