My grandson helped get the tree up the day before Thanksgiving--I've added a small string of lights around the top of my service window(between the kitchen and living room)---put a few window clings on the patio door....it's done
I got an artificial tree after my daughter left home 4 years ago and have been using that. My family don't come over they live too far to pop in and I get no real visitors but I out my tree up also just for me. My cat likes it and climbs in it. I put some lights on the porch roof and a wreasth on my front door. Yes it does seem like more work each year but it's Christmas. I do enjoy sitting at night with the lights on and having coffee or a drink. Even alone...
Yep:
Am all prepared for Christmas...one of the most important holiday of the year, "Christ's" birthday. I have a tiny fiber-optic tree up & it will remain for all the years to come. That is to remind me what Christmas is all about. MERRY CHRISTMAS to all. Lotuslouse.
I'm glad I'm not the only one! My mother is 81 (82 in less than a month), and she still puts up her tree, though she talks more and more about this being the last year - not so much because of the work involved but because she doesn't have company coming (what am I? chopped liver??!!) I keep telling her if it's too much for her, stop! But if it's because no one is coming to visit, why not do it for yourself if you enjoy it? (And I know she does!)
I totally agree with you that Xmas Decorations look so great. This year I bought a 6 foot plastic tree with lights already on it. My twin great granddaughters trimed it for me and also the little fiber-optic tree I'v had for many years and put in the guest bedroom. It was birthday time for both of us in Dec. and so we spent a day together last weekend.
Merry Christmas Everyone
