If I really wanted a romantic date, I'd take him to the 17hundred90 Restaurant or the Old Pink House or Vic's on the River (haven't actually eaten there, but it's got a beautiful view of the Savannah River), and a horse drawn carriage ride through the Squares of Savannah with all the square decorated with evergreen, lights, and bows ... I did meet and date a guy right at Christmas about 3 years ago, but I wasn't living in Savannah then. He took me to a very nice restaurant in St. Augustine that had outdoor seating (it was warm enough), with all the twinkling lights in the trees, overlooking the river there ...
In Maryland we have the Inner Harbor, lights are up, Santas are around, we have many places to dine and some clubs also. Just walking around with a special persdon can be romantic. Now if you are real special go to Deep Creek for a weekend of skiing or our Ocean City with it's large hotels and light scenes, boardwalk and a great place for New Years Eve. We also have theatres to la ive performance, dinner theatres or The Lyric...That's my Maryland...
I dated during the holidays when I was younger...... I haven't had a date for a long time I guess I'd like to go to the Christmas Winter Boat parade downtown. It's really romantic to be in a nice restaurant in front of the river, and watch the Boat parade next to someone you love...and hold hands.....
My city has a Marina and a couple of nice restaurants overlooking it. That would probably be my first choice for a holiday date. If nothing else I would just enjoy taking a nice drive with to look at all the lovely Christmas decorations throughout the neighborhoods in my city. I am always amazed at how creative people can be with lights and how they will go outside in the coldest weather to put them up. A holiday date doesn't have to be expensive to be enjoyed. There are also a number of FREE Christmas concerts going on in churches throughout my town. That too would make for a nice evening.
we have boat parades, carrige rides along the river, light parades, smas lightings etc. do like the carriage ride along the river
Ocean Ive been to all of those places and yes they are wonderful.. Deep Creek is a great place to ski. The Inner Harbor is beautiful I love it there, but if I had my choice I would go back to WV, they lights on the snow, sitting by the fireplace, my little cottage all warm and cozy... Its just amazing seeing all the lights on the homes on the side of the mountains. Breath taking...
My first date with my ex was on Dec. 15, and he took me to Chicago's Magnificent Mile to see the lights. We started off the evening with dinner in Chinatown, then strolled Michigan Ave. to see the decorations. We stopped for hot cocoa and warmed up (it was frigid), and then walked back to the car. About a two-mile walk, all in all. We saw Chi-town's tree, and then drove to Rush Street to listen to some jazz and have a nightcap. Great memories. It's a great time to date.

Oh yeah, I've tried it and it usually leads to that other scenario, "Getting dumped during the Holidays."
If people want to spend the Holidays with someone, it should be unconditional. Spend it with your parents or kids.
