A Loving Touch

A soft caress
A loving touch
A kiss so gentle
I long so much
To have you here
Upon my side
So in your arms
my soul can hide
To feel the rhythm
Of your heart
Somehow I know
We’ll never part
This cadence
I can not resist
This offered love
You now insist
Takes my love
To unknown heights
And comforts me
On lonely nights

ECHO
Come to me in the silence of the night; come in the speaking silence of a dream; come with soft rounded cheeks and eyes as bright as sunlight on a stream; come back in tears, o memory, hope and love of finished years.
O dream how sweet, too sweet, too bitter-sweet, whose wakening should have been in paradise, where souls brim-full of love abide and meet; where thirsting longing eyes watch the slow door that opening, letting in lets out no more.

The above poem, quoted partially by SeleneCawley, was written by Christina Rossetti.

Just a reminder.....if you quote something that's written by someone else, please give them credit for it.

There are some pretty good poets that hang around here. The ones that copy others work don't last long because there are too many ways to check.....

Though copping is a form of flattery I do not understand just why one would do it.
If your work is not constant it starts to become obvious. Though I write out of character here and there it is not often. I seem to see this in other poets work also. Once in a while a non writer will quot without credit not realizing what they are doing but it is hard to believe a writer would intentionaly do this
