I was watching the show but didn't see it. Good grief, it happens - I say people should get over it! They've showed guy/guy kissing on dramas so what's the big deal on an awards show?
Maybe it's because women are more attractive to males,so seeing a woman kissing a woman is more attractive to men, whereas, seeing some male with a beard kissing another man with a beard isn't?
I think he took advantage of having a large viewing audience, not necessarily there to see him, to make a political statement. Perhaps I'm wrong, thats just how I interpret it at this point. I didn't watch the show, just saw some clips the next day. As far as the boy kisses boy, or girl kisses girl, or boy kisses girl...there are public displays of affection, and then there is get a room.
In some places in this world, the men kiss each other but wouldn't dare shake hands with a woman in public. Culture calls the shots. I would love to see our culture get over all the stupid hangups and deal with more important issues. Respect for and kindness toward other people for a start.

WTF? the news media shows same sex couples getting hitched and kissing.
Now that same sex couples are the "in" thing on soaps, same sex kissing should not be a big deal. I did not see the performance so can not really comment on whether the singer's actions were inappropriate.
The only other thing I can think of.. other than the male sexism thing; is that "the kiss" was well rather explicit? As in ya better get a room. And your right Esme same sex kisses seem to be getting rather "fashioanble"
Gee. Now I just don't know why an underbooked musician at a Nationally televised awards show would want to do something outrageous on camera! Perhaps he was out of "Wardrobe malfunctions". You don't suppose it could have been for the Publicity? Do you?
