I asked this same question just a few weeks ago and was surprised that nobody said they used a kindle or similar device.
am a poor boy, can not afford any of the toys i would like to have.
Oh boy! "Now what?" asks Mr 8 track. I have to ask, what is an e reader?
My husband has been wanting a Kindle for the last 2 years, so this Chistmas I broke down and finally got him one...shhh.
That really does not answer your question Trish, but I can let you know after Christmas if your still interested.
Just remind me, my memory...not so good.

Mercer e reader is the generic name for Kindle type devices. Electronic books that can hold up to 1000 or more individual books. Advantages are that they are lightweight and have 3-6 print sizes for those with bision issues. At this time they are 150-450 dollars depending on features such as a touch screen, size of reading area,, wireless or cable needed for download etc.
1000 books, man, oh man, i would be in heaven, i like to read.
I am on another board, and they were discussing which one they all liked, and which was easy for them to use, and everyone agreed on the Kindle. If I could, I would get a Kindle, as I love to read.
....and this technology isn't going to fade away. It's what's to come as replacements for printed books.. At least that's what Clark Howard said on this matter.
I'm cheap so I depend on the library for many of my reads. LOL
.....hmmmm, makes you wonder how this will affect the libraries! Will they have E readers? Now that would be cool!
I prefer paper books - hard to curl up with an electronic reader! But, being the computer/gadget geek that I am, I could get used to the "new" technology. I would guess, Cos, that soon we'd be able to check out e readers from the library, or be able to download books to our e readers from the library website - like online rental movies (see Amazon DVD on demand, for example) the books would expire after a certain time period. No need to return them, they just disappear. No more late fees either!
