I think it is an excellent speech . I agree with Hoover on almost every point . Government is a power hungry parasite . We need to be very vigilant to limit it in power and scope whenever possible . Unfortunately , we have had too many administrations since Hoover who think bigger and more intrusive government is better .

Yep he made that speech then less than a year later…The market crashed…What did Hoover do then, NOTHING! Which brought about the depression… Don’t get me wrong I don’t like big government either…But when you look at our history…Panics almost every 10 years or so, we call them recessions now…That needs some strong regulation.

Wrong Den , there has never been any problem that government could not make worse by trying to " solve" it , like now for instance .

Hoover, for all the crap he took all these years, was absolutely right. Do nothing, it will correct itself. FDR, as shown, only made things worse by interfering. Did Obama not study history? Yeah, raise taxes; that'll fix it. HOW MANY JOBS DID THE STIMULUS REALLY CREATE?
