TRAVEL

How many have traveled outside the United States? More than once? Where'd you go? Have fun?

Do military deployments count? Living in southern Germany for 8 years was a trip, and visiting Damam, Saudi Arabia after Desert Storm was an eye-opening experience, for sure.

I have lived in England, Spain and Italy and I have Euro-railed twice through Europe using a back pack and I had a blast..I loved living there and visiting much of Europe. I have lived on the Island of Guam also and loved it and I have visited Japan...also lived in Hawaii but that is a State...I miss all of that travel so much..I loved every bit of it. oh yes, I have also been to Mexico...about 250 miles inland and drove there from Texas...to Saltillio, a wonderful little town.

Other than many trips to Mexico, Mexico City, a lot of weekend trips to Tijuana, Rosarito then on down to Ensenada, I spent 6 years in Canada, have been to the Virgin Islands (US and British) a week at time, sailing, I've only been to Europe once -- Germany and Austria for three weeks. I went for my son's wedding and fell in love, too. With Vienna. He encouraged me to head to Switzerland, which wasn't that much of a trip, but I was so entranced with Vienna I spent every day I could exploring the city and if he had remained, would have probably moved there, permanently.

Pamela has lived in some places that are at the top of my "must visit" list. Now I know who to PM up for info. LOL

Thanks, Pam.

GG, if you are in good walking condition and you can carry a back pack...a Euro-rail is the way to go..of course, you can take a Euro-rail with luggage but that was too burdensome for me

I went to Tijuana for 2 hours one time - does that count? And, no, I didn't have a good time.

And I go to my own little world everyday, does that count? It's certainly nothing like the USA!

17 trips to Europe since 1995, lasting 17 to 25 days, with 15 of those to Italy. Did 3 of these trips just this past year and will go again in April. The other 2 trips included Austria, Germany, Switzerland and France. Prior to 1995 I spent 4 months transversing the countries mentioned above plus Spain, Portugal, England, Ireland, Scotland, Belgium, Netherlands, Egypt, Turkey, Greece, and Lebanon. Have also been to Mexico and Canada. Needless to say I LOVE to travel and have 7 major trips scheduled for next year including 3 cruises. Went on my first cruise 2 weeks ago - I thought it was time to get my feet wet!
