Evening hike 11-28-09

Well, evening in the Alaska winter means 2:30 to 4:15 p.m. I went with my husband, and son Paul and his girlfriend Amanda, who are visiting from Seattle. The snow in the mountains was knee deep just off the trail. The trail snow supported our weight even without snowshoes. We hiked up and up, pausing every few minutes because I got winded. It was all easy for the second half of the loop, going down. We passed about 20 people on the whole trip, most with very happy dogs. Slideshow is in the reply...

What a beautiful snow angel! I haven't done one of those in years. I'll bet you didn't see too many bikes on that trail! Thanks for sharing.
