Quiet day had all the usual but my husband ended up being a nurse for me. I was conpletely down with cold/flue
Enjoying the weather, getting plastic up on windows spreading some straw around a few plants and lastly hanging some Christmas lights and having a leftover buffet tonight.
Went for a walk along the Mississippi, great day and needed the exercise!
Having a quiet weekend in our retirement village in Maryland.
Pretty quiet over here by Sioux City. I brined a turkey for the first time. I will never do a turkey any other way from now on!! It was sooo tender and juicy! And stayed home on "Black Friday", too scary for me. Now on to the Christmas decorating!!
My daughter Sarah and I are in Maryland at my sister's; flying home to Iowa tonight. We got here Tuesday and then I drove to northeastern PA to pick up my mom. Had a nice Thanksgiving dinner. Sarah went to Philadelphia yesterday to visit friends from camp. I did my usual 4-mile walk/run three days here, but I discovered I don't like running on pavement. Can't wait to get back to my usual gravel road runs in Iowa!
Three out of my 5 kids got to come for Thanksgiving. Of course we had turkey and all the trimmings. We were all a little envious of one of my sons because they were in MX soaking up the sun. So someone came up with the idea of mooning them.( sort of a group moon)......we did, took a picture and my daughter sent it via phone with this message "GOBBLE THIS!.......just wish we could have seen there face when they received it.
Had a great feast in my sisters home in Rockford, IL. A good gathering of relatives to visit with and keep in touch with. A long drive for me, 3 hours each way. The drive home is always the worst after a large meal and playing with the children all day. Things are quiet now, a good time to recover and appreciate thanksgiving.
OMG! I love the photo 'moon' thing.... Gobble this? I am on the floor. Oh dear, I get worse as I get older... lolol Hugs everybody... and Carol, keep the brat in line will you? lololol meems
