Frankly, I was surprised to read it on Yahoo news. The under reporting (or non reporting) of this inconveniant event fits in perfectly with my assessment of the News reporting environment of our times.

Sort of like those stories in National Enquirer and other supermarket tabloid rags have exclusive stories like the alien in the refrigerator or that President George W. Bush is gay or that his father really is a space alien, stuff like that. Responsible, main stream media, don't deal in that crap.

Considering the ample evidence that global warming is actually happening now in real time (huge ice shelves disintegrating, northern passages at the top of Canada and Russia opening up, arctic ice disappearing, glaciers worldwides hrinking, etc etc etc) there's more than enough real world evidence to prove that whatever "conspiracy" happened was based on fact and those scientists were seeking a consensus on those facts.

Other proof of global warming includes malaria moving steadily northward, persistent droughts, etc.

And the opposition has NO proof of climate stability.

Oh, but you missed the conservative memo, MM. Sure ice shelves are breaking off of the glaciers worldwide and bobbing off to warmer waters where they'll become ice cubes and eventually melt into nothingness, but that doesn't point to anything other than a natural turn of events. The earth has been cooling and heating periodically for millenia and will continue to do so long after we're gone. Yeah, well that "we're gone" part may be a bit of an inconvenience but look at it this way. If we're gone we won't have to worry about it.

And who knew Bush was gay and why wasn't I told? I can't even imagine the fun SNL would have with that one.
