Black Friday!

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's off to shop we go. Yes, Liz and I are continuing a decades long tradition of doing our Christmas shopping on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Not that I'm doing much in the way of gift buying--The kids and grandkids all like those little plastic cards that have money pre-loaded on them. I'm looking for the little stuff to put in their stockings. I always find some sort of little toy to put in there. It's our running family joke.

We had a really good dinner yesterday with one of Liz's neighbors and her adult daughter. Another neighbor, who ate with us last year, came by for some of my pumpkin pie. I must say, it was darned good. Probably because it was made in that new kitchen!

I know, I know...cut the chatter and make the coffee.

Thermal carafe--It'll stay hot all day.

i'm not eating a thing today... finished up my day yesterday with a slice of chocolate chip pecan pie at around 8:30 pm. holy cow. then i couldn't sleep last night because of the chocolate. but you know what? that pie was so good it was worth it!

No Black Friday shopping for me! The savings aren't worth the crowds to me, and I'm only shopping for myself this year anyway. The kids are getting money!

My car is in the shop this morning, anyway - my son helped me drop it off at the mechanic last night. So I can't even be tempted to go out.

Thanks for the warm breakfast - I actually have a bit of frost and ice this morning.

I was at Walmart at 5 this morning,
got alot of good buys. Then went to Target the lines were to the back of the store...forget that..walked out. Went to K Mart and got a few
more bargains, and here I am at work. Had to be here at 9 this morning or I would have kept shopping.
I am ready for a nap!!!!

I have never shopped on Black Friday but my daughter persuaded me to go to the midnight madness at Toys'r Us last night...Never, ever again! We stood in a line that stretched over 1 mile!!! for 2 hours in finely falling mist...when we finally hit the sales,not!,the prices were not much less than the regular prices on any other friday...people crashing into displays sending toys flying, crashing into each other without so much as a pardon me! Finally, we developed a strategy that seemed to work..I stood in front of the store with the cart while my daughter shopped and brought her "deals" up to me...Check out was a breeze compared to the rest...A real eye-opener for me...nope, never again...Now, I am going to take Terri's advice and head for eBay online! Hope you all get the bargains you are hoping for..:o)

Liz and I had a great time. We go to one of the smaller malls that is much easier to park and shop at. Just getting odds and ends of things for the boys, and found lots of interesting stocking stuffers at World Market. Tree lighting in downtown Eustis tonight.
