Food for thought...

When I saw this it brought up a plethora of stark, vivid, serious thoughts. Not the least of which was "What in the hell has become of our veneration for tradition and for thee long standing icons of our society?"

(See response #1 for what started it all and how I answered my self.)

We used to sing a song about a Girl Scout in the grass. This was in 6th Grade so I can't repeat it here.

Crazies can be found in any organization these days.

But remember, the crazies are still in the minority--"news" is when something out of the ordinary happens (Man Bites Dog), so the good people are still in the majority or it'd make front page news when someone helps a little old lady cross the street!

High! It doesn't bother me, because I can choose NOT to look at it, and I don't believe in ANY censorship, so onward with your frivolous, inane pictures and posts! I was a Brownie, and later, a Girl Scout, and while it's true that many of our icons are trivialized or denigrated by TODAY'S culture, my memories and sensibilities of them are intact, so I'm still content.

Also, my old man and I have a warped sense of humor sometimes, where we can take something like that graphic, and spin-off further jokes about it...

And it's like arel1 said -- "good" news is usually trumped by "bad"; additionally, in this day-and-age of cyberspace, NOTHING is "sacred," or "off-limits," and everyone and everything is fodder for the masses' collective rudeness and bad taste. Stay High and Peace! Alison
