It's not the first thing he has done to disturb me. Still another case of intervention by his people to keep a lesbian's partner from getting health benefits despite a federal judge's ruling. Once again pulling the legislation for Don't Ask Don't Tell. Announcing he will not sign off on the anti-land mine treaty, then one day later says it's still in consideration when all hell broke loose. Lack of action still to reign in Wall Street, picking a cabinet who seems to be in their pocket.
I hold open hope, but if he does not start representing the people who elected him soon, I'm going to look around for somebody to run against him for the Democratic nomination in 2012. Though truth is, anyone who gets nominated is already in the pocket of big money. Looking backwards, the first order of business should have been serious campaign finance reform, but nobody is interested in that since millions of dollars are flowing back and forth up their on Capitol (maybe we should call it Capital) Hill.
I have been seriously disillusioned by his insistence on tacking to the right, far enough to be considerably right of center. A person can say all sorts of things, but they must be judged by their actions. His actions have not been gay friendly. His actions have not been peace friendly. His actions have supported big business over ordinary folks. Our great hope seems to be same ole same ole.
Yep, you said it right L3......
Which is the best site to voice an opinion?
I am really fed up.
I generally try to send my letters to the White House typed on decent paper with appropriate letterheads and signed with my name, address, and telephone number. I do that for my politicians too. It generally carries more weight with politicians.
Gee, I wasn't aware that Obama had made his statement on sending troops.
He has not yet.....They say he is going to announce his decision....Maybe he will not send troops and listen to his own voice instead of all the other idiots who have not learned one thing from the last war!
I am in touch with my representative George Miller-emails back and forth BUT this is his decision.
How can I write directly to the Whitehouse...Why are there no petition letters going there?
