ITS A BAD TREND

It was policy for years all Wal Marts were closed on the holidays. So that their employees could be home with their familys. Not this year. Are we that bored with the holiday?Or have we just forgotten its a day of thanks? PMOM

I did not know that, I thought Christmas day was the only day they were closed..I know alot of places closed last year that I never thought would..My daughter and I took off to McDonald's and it was closed...Wendy's was also closed..There went my double cheeseburger Christmas tradition..lol..Went across the street to Ingles and got a frozen pizza instead..

I'll Amen that beadawn...It's kind of ironic in a way, money is the cause of most troubles, yet without it, we are all in trouble..It's like a double whammy..

I have several close friends who work at walmart and its' only about $$$$ now ! It always was, but even more so ! They all have to work today, and its' sad...they are all afraid for their jobs at walmart and are told in their daily meetings that they could be replaced in a snap ! A lady who had the swine flu, was so afraid she came to work even though she wasnt completely well because she was afraid of losing her job ! go walmart, way to treat hard working Americans !
they suk !
God bless their employees !

The only way to get stores to close when they should is by not going there when you shouldn't. If they lose money, they'll back off.

I don't like the way Wal-Mart is going either, but I will go there to save a buck because my bucks are few and far between. What gripes me is all the electronics in the stores. If you walk thru the newly rehabed Wal-Marts, you can tell exactly where all the markup is by the size of the department. Pretty soon, the store will be 50% electronics.

I expect to see the jewelry and watches go soon. The area is so small now, you can hardly find it. If you're not 15, you better not tell your girlfriend that her jewelry came from Wal-Mart. But I notice that hosiery and handbags is doing just fine.

Also, have you noticed that the sizes in women's clothing changed recently? I wear sweatshirts all through the winter. I now need a larger size in women's clothing, but the sizes stayed the same in men's sizes. Now, women who used to wear a size 14 last year, will wear a size 16 this year and it costs $2 more. I can go to the men's department, get a sweatshirt with a longer body and longer sleeves than a womans sweatshirt and pay less because the sizes haven't changed there.

My sweetie and I are two sumptuous women and finding clothes has become a real challenge. I'm ready for the big women's rebellion. What there is out there now looks like crap. Grrrrr.

I think that Walmart (at least their public statement) opened to try to alleviate the problems that they had last year when an employee was killed and 16 custoemrs were injured. That didn't work here. Walmart was supposed to stay open all night but their Upland, Ca store had to close at 8pm on Thursday because customers got unruly. What is up with people? Can simply getting a bargain make us resort to this kind of behavior?
