Nope...don't go. This year I'm working retail so I'll be on the other end of the spectrum...waiting on the crazy people!
Besides..now it's too easy to do your Black Friday shopping online.
I've worked retail on Black Friday -- can be kind of interesting!
I have to go to Offfice Max but for a routine purchase not a Black Friday Sale, I'll go to Menardd's at some time maybe but also routine. The only sale I maay go to for the sale is Kohl's but only if I find something specific otherwise I avoid them. Our Menard's is humungous but Office Max is small and probably won't be that busy.
One year I went out early on Black Friday...NEVER again. The "deals" were sold out two minutes after the store opened, the lines were 30 yards long, and I witnessed some of the nastiest behavior ever. This is not what Christmas is about. Good day to get an oil change.
I also worked in a retail store during the Black Friday madness for three consecutive seasons. Now I only observe herd animal activities from a safe distance.
have never done it my self, but then i hate crowds, lines etc. always do my shopping during off hours. to be honest, unless i run out of something basic, won't see me near any store till after xmass.
I went Black Friday 'shopping' with my sister once - good gawd! never again! I don't like to shop anyway, but to shop for things I don't really need, on a day when there are crazy people EVERYWHERE willing to gut you for a chance to purchase a bargain DVD player, or to mow you over with their SUV's so they can have that one last parking space?!? no thanks.
I went to Menards one year for fleece blankets on B.Friday...there was a lot left... it wasn't like there was a shortage. Sometimes the things that you think will sell out fast (just because you want it), doesn't.
People actually CAMP OUT in parking lots the night before, in some parts of the US!! Or they get there at 2 am for a 5 or 6 am sale!! Nuts, eh?
Nuthin' is worth that insanity! 'Cept a Big Screen TV for $200 HA HA HA You know - the "off brand" ones that work for a month and then have a million things wrong with them and also have no warranty?
Gotta work...so it's not even an option with me.....but I would not dare to venture out on Black Friday anyway. I would use that time to catch my breath from Thanksgiving...maybe put up my feet with a cup of coffee and do the "New Black Friday".....shop QVC. Click and buy ....BABY!!!!
I'm with you Cosmic, this online shopping is so easy now, we do alot of our shopping that way.
HSN is pretty good also...
