We did indeed have a pot-bellied wood stove that provided all the cabin heat in the place we were lucky enough to rent on our first married Thanksgiving near the Naval Air Station on Whidbey Island.Washington. But although it performed very well as a heat pruducer, it lacked the graphic realism of the one your picture provides, Of course we didn't have many choices back then so none the wiser of what we were missing which may have been ust as well.

(Friday)

It was a Beautiful, cool Thanksgiving here . Our dinner was wonderful.

Only problem, I tripped late yesterday AM (tripped on carpet) in my bedroom here at Shirlene's, fell & hit my head. It was sort of a corner between the closet & the wall. I managed to cut my left eyebrow and got a huge goose bump above my right eyebrow. The girls took me to the hospital & I ended up with about a dozen+ stitches on the left. Cut a place on my left arm but it was not deep. I have two very black eyes. Would have been perfect last month for Halloween. Dinner was only one hour late and of course, I was restricted to the recliner. Got a bruised knee, bruised right side of my face and look like @$%#^&!* but feel ok as long as I do not move much.

HeyDaze,,Drove the entire Whideby Island last year. Beautiful!

My Thanksgiving were great, We got a bit of snow. But, that is Michigan for you.

Dang Barbara.... that was an awful thing to have happen to you. Sure hope you heal up quickly, glad you're feeling better. Be careful going home...

That.is OK. Could have been worse since I was at my daughter's house instead of home alone. Will take it easy going home. It is a 40 minute drive, allTha, country & no traffic. The purple keeps spreading. I have never seen anyone with eyes as black as mine are. The next week is very full. I will be wearing dark glasses for a while.
