TAKE A MOMENT

As you sit down to dinner take a moment to remember those people who are not. They number in the thousands the solider doing their duty the cop out on patrol the trucker hauling that store freight or the homeless with no place to go.Be thankful if you have and say a prayer for those who go without. Thanks for the reminder, PMOM.

One Christmas, my mother forgot an ingredient she needed for something and ended up going to a convenience store that doesn't close on Christmas day. She apologized to the clerk, pointing out that if people like her (my mom) would plan better, then people like the clerk might not have to work on Christmas day. The clerk smiled and said, "Don't worry about it. I'm getting holiday pay plus time and a half for today so I don't mind working today!"

Hospital personnel have to work, and there are quite a few restaurants that are open as well on Thanksgiving.

Yes I have worked holiday's before, not the most fun I have ever had. But he residents of the home sure liked having us there to sing and make their day brighter, especially those with no family to visit.
Our service folk will be in my Tanksgiving Prayer today, as always.

Yes it does.
At the home I worked in that shut down there was a woman, Norma Klemme.
Norma was single her entire live, worked for the DMV for years, but never had a drivers licence. She did however have a pilots licence! She was deeply into her dementia but would often speak in Norma talk of the many men who LOVED (a little look of triumph on her sweet face)her. Once she was walking in her chair down the hall stopped in her tracks and said "DeaWea, you're the Dea" (Dea is what my granddaughter calls me, I never told Norma that. And another time when my granddaughter was still speaking in baby talk but learning stopped her play and said"Apple Dapple Day!" something Norma said all the time, again I never told that to my granddaughter. So as you can imagine, I loved my Norma, I never was able to find out where they placed her. But I send her good thoughts and love today.
