Now this pisses me off..........

big time.

Some kids in CA decide to kick red hair children.

CALABASAS, Calif. -- Authorities said there were at least five attacks on red-haired students at a Southern California middle school after a Facebook group announced "Kick a Ginger Day." However, nobody was seriously hurt and no arrests were made.

I ask myself what is "Kick a Ginger Day?" and Where would young kids gets such an idea.

Here is the rest of the story.

"Investigators said the Facebook message may have been inspired by a "South Park" TV episode that satirized racial prejudice by portraying a campaign against red-haired, fair-skinned "ginger" people."

Even if there were no arrests, I hope that the school and the children's parents punished them.

You can't blame South Park for that. They were trying to teach people something and those kids decided to have a stupid day. Too bad they can't be put in jail for a day to get the point across. Try to teach a kid by forcing community duty on them is a joke unless you take their toy away from them. No texting? OMG! How can they possibly live thru the day!

This is a longtime prejudice. Our family has real redheads and a lot of people with red in their hair which tends to bleach out reddish in the Summer. My brother told me he learned to fight because he had red hair. Also, there is the tale of the red haired stepchild. Considering how many beautiful people have red hair and how many dye it that color, its amazing that this stereotype still exists. Dumb people.

This is so sad and distressing............just another "excuse" to hurt and beat up on others......and where does this all stem from??? It makes me feeling like crying........I cannot believe how mean kids are (they were back when I was a child) My oldest granddaughter had strawberry blonde hair (she was only 6 mos old when we lost her) I would give anything to see that beautiful blue-eyed baby with strawberry blonde hair!
WHEN IS THE INSANITY GOING TO STOP????!!!!

Everyday it seems there's something new on the news about something negative, if its not women missing, children missing, now it's redheads being singled out for some form of abuse. It makes me sick....I'm going to change my hair color now, oh wait what color would be safe tomorrow?

I think the safest color would be the most common color. If most people were redheads they would go around attacking brown headed people. I guess it's human nature.

Red heads get a bad name. Red-headed men seem to be considered stupid in a sort of 'Howdy Duty' sort of way, and red-headed women are considered volatile.

I'm guilty of saying "Red-headed stepchild", but would NEVER consider being mean to someone just because of their haircolor.
These kids need something to do, obviously. And obviously, they don't have much parenting going on. If they're doing this kind of sick crap now....they'll be in prison by the time they're 18. How wonderful that our tax dollars go to house and feed people like this.

They need the same thing done to them, that they did to others. Then they need their hair died pink and forced to wear pink dresses to school.

I think red hair is beautiful, myself. I've had dark auburn hair before, and had many compliments on it. I have a nephew that's red-headed and has brown eyes and he's a handsome devil !!

And a little tidbit about red hair....'People with red hair have the most hair per square inch on their head than any other color' (I'm a retired hairdresser)

Come out of the basement, that you don't have, brew....lol....if ya got it...flaunt it !!!

What amazes me even more is that parents of children under 16 allow them to watch South Park. In case you haven't seen it, it's about a group of extremely foul-mouthed 8 year-old kids. I'm not saying that I don't find it funny because I often do. However, when one of the main characters, Cartman, tells his mother to, 'get your bitch ass into the kitchen and make me a pie', it should be a clue that it isn't really a cartoon for children.

Yeah! No more callin' 'em "Red", or "Carrot top"! I say now, to enfold them into the PC world, we call them "Mainly-Irish-but-some-Scotch-Irish-too- Americans". Following our Black and Brown and Oriental and Red and various forms of white and all the Other Brothers from the dark and dismal degradation into the light of an advanced society!

I don't think I know any group that hasn't been "downtrodded" by someone else at one time or another. School kids get into fights. Over hair, clothes, friends, phones, shoes, books, candy, cigarettes, and guns.
Always have, always will. It's up to the parents to try and not turn it into a big social movement.
