When I was about 21, I worked in a resturant and we had the day off. I volunteered to cook if everyone chipped in to buy the fixins. I asked for the smallest turkey they could fid, maybe a 12lber. Well, I got a 21lb one and I looked woefully at my apt sized oven! I went and borrowed my Gfather's hacksaw and roasted half at a time! We ended the dinner with a bowl of pot, then had to quickly air out the house when My Mom showed up!

too funny!

Got married 1st time 1 week before Thanksgiving (city hall) Got sick , soo Thanksgiving morning I was truly out of it. My new MIL called & spoke with her son.. He told her I was sick.. She told him to "come home for Thanksgiving dinner". After hearing this I realized that she would be a "formidable advisary" lol Sooo I got out of death bed, called my mother & asked "how do I cook this thing" Any way later on new hubs layed on floor in a stuffed stuper claiming that it was "the best he ever had"

THX! Gets better.. One yr. we drove over an hr. to get to inlaws for thanksgiving dinner.. I commented to hubs that I do not smell turkey wafting thru the air.. Same MIL said that she forget to take turkey out of freezer.. She then turned to FIL & told him to go to the deli for turkey meat..

There was that time when the day was accompanied by an ice storm. Of course we were scheduled to go out for dinner. The kid's Mom was working as a waitress at a dinner/theater. We were separated and I had agreed to take the kids to where she was working for Thanksgiving Dinner. The storm made that rather tricky (#1 son declared he would never ride "shotgun" again) but we made it. The show had already started so it was dark but we were not the only ones the ice had made late so they were still serving. When everyone at our table had their plates, #1 son (he was about 9 at the time) wanted to know where the turkey was; not the stuff on his plate but, you know, THE TURKEY. So the next day we did Thanksgiving over again; I fixed the "real" turkey along with all the fixings and fifteen minutes after they sat down to eat, it was all over. This year he's in Marine Boot Camp for Thanksgiving; hope they have a real turkey around somewhere
