One of the hardest and perhaps impossible bits of information to learn from a Part D plan is how much will be charged per prescription against your $2500 benefit. It has a lot to do with how quickly you reach the doughnut. Beware of plans that gouge you on generics. For example, 180 20mg tabs of generic Omeprazole can be bought over the counter at Costco for about $77. One drug plan quoted me $640 for the same quantity via their plan. I was quoted $210 for another generic I bought at Costco for $90. Many of these plans are run by criminals.
