Northern Slavers
There were black armies that plundered the African West Coast since the 1500's to suppy slave labor for the new world. There were over 40 "slave factories" lining the coast,where traders from Europe and the colonies could purchase captive human beings. I seem to never hear anything about these human traffickers in modern history.Oh,that's right the seller's were black,selling their brother's & sisters. One can't mention that today because it would be racist.
Did I fail to mention that in this country that it was not just Southerners who bought slaves to work for them.There were slave worked farms in Connecticut,& other New England states.New Yorker's Lewis Morris,Augustus Van Cortlandt,Burris & Wallace,even Governor Cornbury.
But understand the northern mind at the time.Slavery was not wrong as long as the north needed it.When they could get European Immigrants to work cheaper than the slaves,no longer was it the right thing to do. But the Southerners were still using slaves,so the northern preacher's and politicians decided the South was a evil land for owing & using slaves.Just PC in the 19th century I suppose.
