OMG, I hate grocery stores right before a holiday! But usually I count on the day before being bad. Actually, now that I think of it, Trader Joe's was busier than normal last Saturday. And I have to stop on the way home from work. Argggghhhh.

I went to Fry's yesterday about noon and there were only 2 checkers and that is all that was needed at that time. I was second in line and in and out in a flash. I always find Walmart crowded unless I get there at 7 a.m. (except for this coming Friday, of course). I did go to Walmart last Friday morning to the Eye Center for an exam and did a little shopping afterwards and it was not overly crowded, but I know today and tomorrow will be worse.
Today, I am home, finished work for the day, cut up the veggies to put around my turkey breast, diced onions and celery for stuffing, ready to go for cooking tomorrow so I can just fool around on Thursday.
Having a plan and getting shopping done early is the best way for me to cope.
Are you all going to hit the streets at 3 or 4 a.m. for Black Friday?
No Black Friday for me, thank-you-very-much. I know I'll be out running around, but not shopping like that!

I went to Fry's earlier today mainly to pick up more $1.88 twelve packs of Coke. I purposely went early and today instead of tomorrow. I did not expect the mess I ran into. They did have most check out lanes open but it was a mess all over the store. I don't go out shopping on Black Friday. There is no amount of savings that would entice me into that mess.
I am just sssooo thankful they did not go on strike !!!! Even up here "on the mountain", things had gotten tense at Safeway !
Dafriend, that was a great buy on the 12-packs. I picked up a 12-pack of Diet Dr. Pepper. I think Fry's had the best deals all-around for shopping this week. I didn't see much at all in the Safeway paper.
Everybody stay off the street and for sure the freeway today, it's going to be bad.
No Black Friday for me either. I think I will shop next week for the holidays. I need to finish that up.
