Since I am a true career computer geek working in technical support I'll tell what I'm thankful for:
1. I'm thankful that none of "friends" are having computer problems today so that my phone isn't ringing.
2. I'm thankful that I have caller ID so I'll know when one of my "friends" is having computer problems and I can avoid them like the plague.
3. I'm thankful that everyone in my extended family is computer literate.
4. I'm thankful that my husband finally told his extended family that I no longer work for free and that the last thing I want to do when I get home from work is work on computers.
5. I'm thankful that some of my "friends" give up when I don't return calls to answer their quick computer question.
6. I am thankful that my email address changed recently so I no longer get every single chain mail, joke, or missing child poster on the web from my "friends" who can never come up with an original thought to share.
7. I'm thankful that my internet service provider has been up and running consistently lately so that my phone doesn't ring off the hook when it's down. (My "friends" don't seem to understand that I don't control the entire internet.)
8. I'm thankful that at least some of my "friends" have learned to go to Snopes.com to see if the virus warning they just received from God knows who is a hoax or a true threat before they forward it to everyone in their address book and call me.
9. I'm thankful that my husband has finally learned not tell everyone what I do for a living.
10. I'm thankful that my neighbors have no idea what I do for a living.
11. I'm thankful that I have friends on Eons who don't call me for help with computer problems. (Don't ask for my phone number.)
12. I'm thankful for email because I can sometimes help people without being tied up on the phone all day discussing ever single glitch they've ever encountered on their computer.
13. I'm thankful for a job that allows me to do the hands-on technical support that I love. (For 8 hours a day.)
14. I am thankful that I have learned that I am not obligated to help everyone I know at their convenience.
15. I am thankful that I have learned that it's ok to get angry at someone who calls me 11pm because they can't open an email attachment.
16. I am thankful that there are many computer repair shops that I can direct my "friends" to when they've sucked up every ounce of sympathy that I might ever have had for them.
17. I am thankful to have such a wonderful opportunity to get this off my chest.
18. I am thankful that none of you have to read this if you don't want to.
19. I am thankful that some of you may read this and understand that your friend who does "whatever" for a living needs a break too.
20. I am thankful that none of you are guilty of any of the annoyances that I've listed above.
I really love Eons!

I am thankful that my teenage son is so much better on computers than I am, so I can direct everyone's queries to him.
I am thankful that everyone still asks me all their tax questions, because being needed even annoyingly is better than not being needed at all.
I am thankful that none of my friends have asked to borrow money again this year.
I am thankful that my husband and I are still gainfully employed at this time, as so many friends are not.
I am thankful thank my three sons made it thru yet another year without any serious injuries (I should probably hold that one until Jan. 1, but lets run Nov to Nov, shall we?)
I am thankful to be going away again soon to see my once-a-year-family at our time share.
I am thankful for yet another beautiful golden sunset from the window of my freezing cold new-office cubicle.
I am thankful to have warm people on Eons who can accept me even when I can't express myself properly.
I am happy to have my health, minor aches and pains be damned, and to have food to eat.
I am thankful thank my eldest has his license, is a safe and mature driver and can help with the chauffering of his two brothers so I can finally remove my bat (out of hell) wings.
I am thankful for the friends I have made, and even those I have lost, this year, because each is a teacher of valuable lessons in their own right.

I am also thankful that I've learned the difference between being needed and being used.

Yeah, I haven't quite gotten there yet.

Being needed makes you feel warm and fuzzy. Being used makes you feel hot tempered and frazzled.

Well, I think when people are over asking for help, I'm usually drinking, so I'm always warm and a bit fuzzy. LOL
