Words

After moving from New England to Ohio, I noticed how different we pronounce words.
Quata or Corter?
Cold or Code?
Car or Caa?
Then theres other words like roof. Is it rewf or do you pronounce it like you would a cow's hoof? Root? What about Route? Is it rewt or rowt?

You think that's bad- I moved from the northeast to the deep south- almost a whole different language down here.

RobtC, it's neither crick or creek to me. It's a brook. I've stopped saying warsh. Still say quata and in Ohio it's pop but it'll always be soda to me. Also in Ohio a pocketbook is a book that fits in your pocket. A grocery cart in Ohio is a grocery carriage back east.

Fogbound, when I'm in TX or NC everyone knows I'm a yankee as soon as I open my mouth.

In NV a Grocery buggy or carriage is a cart! I like buggy though.

Do your groceries go in a bag or a sack?
