Someone's Watching Me! (1978 TV)

Someone's Watching Me! (also known as High Rise) is an early made-for-tv movie, written and directed by John Carpenter and starring Lauren Hutton and Adrienne Barbeau. The film was made in 1978, and pre-production began on Halloween of that same year. The film was produced by Warner Brothers and aired on NBC on November 29, 1978. A woman realizes that she is being watched in her apartment by someone. That person makes threatening calls to her. She reports it to the police, who don't take her seriously, so she decides to take action on her own. * Among fans, this is often referred to as "the lost Carpenter film" due to its scarce availability on VHS or DVD. Warner Bros. officially released the movie on DVD on September 25, 2007. It is worth noting that this was the first time Carpenter worked with Adrienne Barbeau, who he married in 1979. Barbeau later starred in The Fog (1980) and had a supporting role in Escape from New York (1981). John Carpenter was nominated for the 1979 Edgar Award of Best Television Feature or Miniseries for this film. Adrienne Barbeau plays Sophie.

This is an interesting early movie by John Carpenter. I vaguely remember it when it was first shown.

Seems like there was a Hitchcock movie with basically the same theme as this movie.

I had no idea this was a John Carpenter film. I think it shows up occasionally on Lifetime.
