That is certainly scary, I doubt that it's on a label of the toy/collar or whatever you buy. I just scanned the article so I read it thoroughly later, but how do you know if something has the lead in it?
That article has a link to go to the website called healthystuff.org They post the test results on the toys, etc. I had to register so not sure if the link will work for you. But I will add it below to go to the list of their test results. I am going through it now to see about the toys we have here. I try to buy USA made but not sure if that is full proof.

Thanks CelticLadee - I'll register tomorrow and read about it.
It's a shame we have to worry about all this stuff, especially when federal agencies are getting paid big time to check it out before we buy it.
To give ya a better idea here is the write up on the pet page:
HealthyStuff.org tested over 400 pet products, including beds, chew toys, stuffed toys, collars, leashes, and tennis balls. Since there are no government standards for hazardous chemicals in pet products, it is not surprising that there were alarming levels of toxic chemicals found. HealthyStuff.org results are especially of concern to pets and children. Pets and children are frequently close to floor and commonly put products into their mouths. Exposures are greater, resulting in greater health concerns. Check out some of the new test data:
Good info for your grandbabies toys too.
Have they found problems with stuff made in the USA, too? I've been warned of products coming from China and Mexico, so I'm very careful when I buy for pets or human babies. What a crazy world.
I'm not sure pinkcaddy7. Like you do I avoid products from out of the USA except Canada. I hope the USA products are OK. I didn't see anything we use on the high toxic list. Yeh. It can be crazy for sure. But thankfully via the internet we can have more wisdom. :)
