I'm so mad

My doctor's office has told me that I have to have a doctor visit every time I need pain medication. Has anyone else had a problem with this? Instead of just phoning in the prescription I have to actually make an appointment and pay the co pay and the insurance company will have to pay as well. I'm calling the TV stations and alerting the insurance companies about this. I'm so upset.

Well Laurie, everytime that I need to refill my medications I have to go to the Dr's office, pay a copayment, so I can refill my medication. It's outrageous! Before, I could call and they will phone the pharmacy. I don't know what's going on...

According to the folks who are in charge, this is a good way to monitor use. Of course it isn't. It's stupid, if you needed a change in meds, you'd be requesting it. It is another way in which "they" get paid, and you do pay! Makes me furious too.

i have talked most of my docs into writing scripts for a minimum of 3 months with 4 refills since i get my prescriptions from a mail order company. otherwise the office wants to get my money every month ! they are full of tricks to get your money and it will get much worse with "obamacare" !!

For the longest time, I was on pain meds. It could not be called in to a pharmacy because it was a controlled substance. I always had to go to the doctor's and pick up and written prescription. I never had to make an appointment and pay a copay. I just called and asked to have a script waiting for me with the receptionist. My granddaughter is ADHD. My daughter has to call the doctor's office to get a written script for my granddaughter. She doesn't have to bring the child in for an office visit, but she has to pay $5.00 when she gets to the doctor's office in order to get the script, then bring it to a pharmacy and pay the copay for the meds. Can you imagine, $5.00 just to write it out?

Valentine;, I think that's why they are doing this to me. They aren't getting any money when I come to get my script. I wondered if other were going through the same thing. I guess it is becoming somewhat of regular practice. It's all about the money. They said it was "for the patient's benefit" that they were instituting this.

Maybe we need to start wondering how/why we Americans have become such a pill popping society in the first place??? WHAT--you say??? If you have ever lived overseas for any time period, you would observe that prescription meds are not advocated & advertised on television, radio or any other media! Only in the good ol' USA!!! It was the first thing I noticed upon moving back here from Europe.
Believe it or not, there are other avenues to explore that may be just as effective as prescription drugs to relieve quite a few medical problems. We have been brain washed by the constant bombardment of advertising to believe otherwise!!! How many people are pill-free that you know???

I guess when people stop getting diseases Zena. Medication is a blessing for those of us that have incredible pain. If you were curled up in a ball and praying for the pain to end you might think differently.

I'm pill free. But when I shattered my tibia and had to have it rebuilt with synthetic and cadaver bone, held together with a steel plate that wraps around the leg and halfway down with six bolts the size of your middle finger, you can bet I was on pain meds. Thankfully now I have only very little pain from time to time and can cope without the pills. The steel is still inside the leg, doc said he could take it out, but I told him no way is he cutting into me again, he should have used Velcro. I have full function, can run, dance and do anything I want and I am grateful for the surgeon who put the leg back together. That was in 1994.

My husband is also on meds for high blood pressure, kidney function and COPD. Without them he'd be dead. I'm just glad we have the meds to pop. I just wish the pharmaceutical companies and physicians would stop exploiting us for the holy dollar.

Thank a lawyer. Defensive medicine at its best. Get used to it, if OBAMA/REID/PELOSICare is passed.
