Hello from Turkey and may I wish all of you American citizens a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING too! We don't celebrate it here. This is as Muslim county and they are going to celebrate Bayram, starting on Thursday, for four days. It's funny that it coincides with Thanksgiving.
We just have to keep looking forward to our turkey at Christmas!!
Hi Jody29 Happy Thanksgiving to you too.
Thanks Gill, same to you, even if they don't have Thanksgiving in Turkey. Will you be celebrating Bayram? If you have the time, tell us a little about what this holiday in Turkey consist of? Four days, that must be some celebration...
Have a great day everyone, and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.
Turkey, wow! How is it there? What's it like?

Gill,
Thank YOU for the Thanksgiving greeting!
Can't you have your own Thanksgiving Dinner? One time, We abandoned our grown kids at Thanksgiving I prepared one, put everything in the RV fridge, headed to Arizona and had a great time.
You have a great day giving Thanks however you choose!
Hi again. Thank you everyone. No I won't be celebrating either Thanksgiving or Bayram. Not sure exactly what Bayram is about but all I know is that the supermarkets are full of goodies. Yeah, looks like it will be one hell of a feast alright. No turkey tho. We found it hard to find a turkey here in Turkey when we spent Christmas here last year. The big shops will be closed also for 4 days.
Jody29 Yeah it really is a lovely place to live and this time of the year it isn't too crowded but the cruise ships are still arriving. The weather at the moment is amazing. We are going back to Ireland for a month at beginning of December and are not looking forward to the weather there. Lots of flooding! We both need hospital check-ups, and of course it will be nice to have our family for Christmas.
Thanks Gill......That's sounds funny, no turkey in turkey!!!!! Wonder where that name for the country came from??
As i stated in another post, I haven't gone to the store yet, and maybe I won't be having turkey either. Got to get there as my freezer is empty....Being only one, their is always something to eat, but the food cabinet is getting bare too....
