Speaking of ugly & weird

Lego Kitchen
Photobucket Photobucket
It seems that quite a few things will benefit from a Scandinavian touch. Munchausen, a duo formed by Parisian designers Simon Pillard and Philippe Rosetti, took a bold approach with their own kitchen by venturing to IKEA for the basic kitchen island and then spending the next week covering it with more than 20,000 pieces by another Scandinavian brand, Lego

Here is the link, if you want to see the rest of this cra--er--art:

I'd have to enter that kitchen with a blindfold to get my morning coffee, maybe after the coffee I'd take a peek.

my twenty two year old daughter would love this. Her apartment has bright orange counter tops, and that was a selling point for her.!!

I agree that this is a very ugly kitchen and I wouldn't want to do anything in there. What were they thinking????

My tastes run contrary to most people. I think that the whole island done in legos is a bit much, but a small portion would create interest in an otherwise dull kitchen. May be a back splash would work. I am guessing but the legos must be sealed in some way. What I really don't like are the blue stripes on the back wall.

I would like to have an end table made like this. Adds a burst of color and warmth to a contemporary setting.

One persons ugly is another persons Oh wow, neat. :))

Sigh. Brings new meaning to the word, 'WTF were they thinking?'

My son made me an upright paper towel holder of legos when he was 7 -- he's now 21 and I LOVE it to death -- of course you don't SEE all those colors . . . THAT IS a bit much -- maybe if the counter top was a solid darker color??? or if there was some actual pattern goin' on there . . .

Maybe if the rest of the kitchen wasn't so stark white and cold, the bright colors wouldn't look so gawdy.

Oh, thank you, thank you to those who see some good uses for this colorful idea. In small doses the colors and lego idea would be a great addition to a bland room.

Did anyone notice the hanging lamp over the island. It has lampshades on some of the lightbulbs and others are bare, just the bulb.

I probably shouldn't tell this, but what the heck. I found a chandelier made of 21 bare lightbulbs, all grouped together, to form a large circular bulb. (21 is a good Feng Shui number)
I am considering it for the high ceiling in foyer. It will be hard to clean though.

Are those blue strips on the wall or on a computer screen? I do not like the lego kitchen.

I think it's a computer screen.
