Great shot of the bird. I'd recommend recropping as a vertical image and get rid of the bright white glare to the left. The dark brush makes an almost-perfect framing point for a crop.
My apologies, Vulpine. Are you speaking of the cropped sample I show on this page?
For some reason I am unable to present my complete photographs here as others do: mine never come out right when I try to fit them into this space.
Therefore, I have inaugurated a policy for myself of presenting the actual photo at the clickable link with only a portion of that photo on this page.
This is why I must ask you further: do you think I should crop the full photo seen at the clickable link in the way you describe, or are you referring only to the smaller sample of the image I pasted-in here?
Sincerely,
Skeeter
.
I would try cropping the full photo as Vulpine above suggested. The beauty of your photo is the heron--all the extras in the picture take away from the bird's beauty.
I will admit to recommending it based on the sample on this page. Guess I need to look at the master, don't I?

This is the crop I was imagining, cropped from your larger original. I didn't do any other modifications, so it may look a little pixelated. Quick and dirty just for reference.
